The bye week did not help improve the offensive performance as the Bucs fell to the Patriots on the back of three big New England scoring plays. Tampa Bay got starting RT Luke Goedecke back from injury but then lost LG Ben Brederson early in the game. A late touchdown pass to Tez Johnson, his second of the game gave some hope but the ensuing onside kick was recovered by the Patriots and the Bucs fell to 6-3 on the season.
