Tampa Bay Buccaneers 23 Miami Dolphins 25Sunday 15 November 2009 at Land Shark StadiumFOX COMMENTARY CREWRon Pitts and John Lynch
The young Bucs came close to their second straight win under Josh Freeman with a spirited performance against their in-state rivals but fell just short thanks to a late Dolphin field-goal. With the game on the line the defense gave up a 25-yard pass on the first play, 9 yards on a pass interference call on the second and a 16-yard completion on the third. After Chad Henne spiked the ball to stop the clock, a 27-yard run by Ricky Williams set the stage for Dan Carpenter's 25-yard field goal with 10 seconds left. Connor Barth became the first Tampa kicker to have three successful 50+ yard field-goals in a single game and Freeman led a drive that put the Bucs ahead with 74 seconds left as Cadillac Williams went over from a yard out.
