The Bucs ran up 23 unanswered first half points and Ricky Bell went over the 100-yard mark for the first time in the season as the Giants were demolished at Tampa Stadium. Mike Shumann caught a TD pass from Doug Williams in his first-ever game for the Bucs and three Garo Yepremian fieldgoals gave Tampa their decisive lead. 13 of the points came in the final minute of the half as Lee Roy Selmon forced two fumbled that led directly to 10 Buccaneer points.
