Dave Pear had three sacks and the Bucs forced four interceptions,
two off future Buc QB Steve DeBerg, but the Niners came out on
top in a battle of fieldgoals in Candlestick Park. Mike Rae once
again started at quarterback for Tampa Bay but Doug Williams had
promised to return from his broken jaw injury for the season finale
the following week.
