How close they came - the best defense in the league that was within four minutes of the Super Bowl until Ricky Proehl broke their hearts. But the defense could not carry such a poor offense all season long and with rookie Shaun King at the helm, the Bucs had been admittedly lucky to even reach that stage. The Rams went on to win the Super Bowl whilst Buccaneer fans turned off their TVs thinking how it should have been them there instead.
