After   Ray   Perkins   had   spent   a   year   gutting   and   re-building   his   roster,   the   sophomore   jinx   hit   his   young   team in   1988   no   more   notably   so   than   Vinny   Testaverde   throwing   a   record   35   interceptions   in   a   single   season. Three   late   season   wins   bumped   the   record   up   to   5-11   but   this   Buccaneer   team   was   not   a   good   one   and   led to the boo birds descending on the team by season's end.
