Doug Williams passed for a career-high 311 yards but it was not enough to beat the NFC Central champions. This game was the first time the Bucs had sold out Tampa Stadium early enough for the game to be televised locally.  It was also deemed "Orange Sunday" in which everyone was urged to wear orange to the game. For the second straight week, Dave Green had a punt blocked, this one leading the Minnesota's final score.
