Had two separate spells with the Bucs and was a fan favourite during all his years in Tampa Bay. Originally came to the Bucs in 1984 in a trade with the Broncos where he had been replaced by John Elway, having previously been succeeded by Joe Montana in San Francisco. Won the starting job a month into the 1984 season and led the first Buc offense to ever finish in the top-10 of the NFL rankings. Was replaced by Steve Young late in 1985 and was then traded at the end of the 1987 season. Returned to the Bucs in 1992 and spent the next two seasons as a back-up first to Vinny Testaverde and then Craig Erickson. Finished his NFL career with Atlanta in 1998 and was part of their Super Bowl team that season.
