Was part of the linebacking crew that took the Bucs to the No.1 ranking in the NFL in 1979 and a four-year starter for Tampa Bay. Went to the 1980 Pro Bowl but was traded to San Diego 18 months later. Became a starter for the Bucs as a rookie and was named the team's MVP in one poll in his second season. Went on to play the 1982 season with the Chargers and then 1983 with the Rams. Played three years with USC including two with John McKay as his head coach. Passed away in 2020.
