Spent three seasons playing special teams for the Buccaneers having spent 1980 away from Tampa with the Dolphins. Also appeared in two 1982 games for the Detroit Lions after being released by the Bucs. Made the team as an undrafted rookie free agent who saw his most defensive playing time during 1981. Also spent a lot of time in the USFL where he played for a league-record four different teams, the Birmingham Stallions, Jacksonville Bulls, Pittsburgh Maulers and the New Jersey Generals.
