The 2014 Buccaneer draft review
Summing up 2014 - Above Average
Evans has become the best receiver in franchise history and a two-year starter at guard in Pamphile in the 5th round was a bonus. Seferian-Jenkins will have to be considered a bust but Sims was OK in the third round.

The Bucs picked from 7th through 3rd in each round starting with the 13th pick in the first round. The 4th round pick was traded to the NY Jets for Darrelle Revis. The Bucs sent a 7th and 2015 5th round picks to Buffalo for an additional 5th round pick. The Bucs obtained a 6th round pick from Buffalo for Mike Willams. The Bucs sent a 6th round pick to Chicago for T Gabe Carimi.

1 - WR Mike Evans - Texas A&M - Outstanding pick
The best receiver in franchise history. Now owns the all-time mark for receiving yardage and the single season mark following his stellar 2018 campaigns. One of only five NFL players to have five consecutive 1,000-yard games to start a career and was the youngest player in league history to reach 6,000 yards. Was named a Pro Bowl starter in 2016 and named 2nd team All-Pro having tied his own franchise record for touchdowns in a single season

2 - TE - Austin Seferian-Jenkins - Washington - Poor pick
Released after two weeks into the 2016 season after a DUI arrest and wound up seeing limited action with the New York Jets. Had a second straight injury-plagued season and missed nine games during 2015. Scored twice in the season opener against the Titans and added a Hail-Mary touchdown at the end of the Chicago game. Showed the highs and lows of his character with a TD reception against Minnesota in 2014 followed by a costly 15-yard penalty for the celebration routine he performed.

3 - RB - Charles Sims - West Virginia - OK pick
Spent four seasons with the Bucs as their third down back but never really lived up to the promise he showed in his second season when he had over 500 yards both rushing and receiving.

5 - G - Kadeem Edwards - Purdue - Poor pick
Made the 2014 roster as a rookie as a back-up on the offensive line but was a gameday inactive for the first nine weeks of the season before being placed on Injured Reserve. Also missed the entire 2015 season having been injured during the pre-season and was then released.

5 - T - Kevin Pamphile - Tennessee State - Excellent pick
Moved into a starting role in 2016 at left guard and started there the entire year missing only two starts through injury. Started all but one game in that role during 2017. Was allowed to leave as a free agent after the 2017 season.

6 - WR - Robert Herron - Wyoming - OK pick
Played in half of the games as a rookie but wound up mostly being a gameday inactive by the end of the season. Recorded his first NFL touchdown in the road game in New Orleans. Did not make the 2015 team out of training camp
