Josh Johnson replaced Byron Leftwich at quarterback but the end result was still the same as Raheem Morris’ team fell to 0-4 on the season. This was in spite of taking a 10-0 half-time lead and having other chances to drive for the winning score. Johnson’s inexperience led to just two of 13 3rd down chances being converted and the Redskins, thanks to a pair of third quarter touchdown passes hung on for the narrow victory. The Buc defense forced three sacks and three interceptions, all of the latter coming from Aqib Talib who tied a franchise record with the performance. "He'll get better, and when he does he'll take some of those shots," Morris said "He's got to lay it up there and give his receivers a chance to make a play”.
