OCTOBER 2011 - AND THEN THE BUCCANEERS CAME BACK AGAIN The International Series had become a regular part of the NFL calendar but it came as a massive surprise to all concerned when the Bucs announced they would return to Wembley again in 2011 and host a game against the Chicago Bears.   With the experience gained from the first trip, the Bucs UK were able to take things to an even higher level thanks to the assistance of the Tampa Bay front office.    Having welcomed the players and officials at Heathrow Airport, 30 club members were invited to the team’s training complex in Surrey to watch a closed practice session and meet players and coaches alike for an autograph and picture fest.  Another club meal took place in London the night before the game and many club membes attended the fan rally in Trafalgar Square.    Gameday saw a superb touch football game at Wembley arranged with the UK Bears club and organised by NFL UK with Super Bowl-winning QB Brad Johnson playing for the Bucs UK, supported by Jimmie Giles and Shelton Quarles.  Over 250 tickets for club members were arranged behind the Buccaneers’ sideline and GM Mark Dominik took time out to visit with many Bucs UK supporters before the game. THE WRITTEN WORD Many of the Bucs UK members involved wrote their own personal accounts of the Buccaneers’ second visit to the UK.
