Profile
Veteran NFL end who was well past his best of a long and illustrious career when the Bucs gave up a 1st round pick for him in the 1979 draft. Played two seasons with Tampa Bay including the NFC Championship Game in 1979 but retired after that year. Was originally a 1st round selection of the Bears in 1973 (8th overall choice) and a three-time Pro Bowler including the 1975 season when he had 14 sacks and was the NFL's Defensive Player of the Year. Forced no less than seven fumbles in his final professional year in 1979. Chambers went on to many seasons of coaching in the NFL and college ranks and he spent the 2002 season as defensive line coach for Wayne State University in Detroit.
