Former in-state player with the Gators who played parts of two seasons with the Bucs at cornerback and started eight games in the process. Played two seasons in the USFL with the Michigan Panthers (1984) and Oakland Invaders (1985) leading the Invaders in interceptions with six during the USFL's final season. Had nine interceptions during his college career during which he also started four games as a freshman. Led the Bucs in interceptions in 1986 with three and also recorded nine special teams' tackles before winning his starting defensive back spot.
