
| Diving into the endzone Tampa Stadium 23 September 1990 The background 1990 saw a new television network enter the NFL in the form of TNT. They would televise Sunday night games with the proviso from the NFL that every NFL team now had to be featured in at least one such game between themselves and ABC during the season. Hence the Bucs got themselves some national coverage and of course an appearance in the middle of the night on Armed Forces Radio for us Brits to listen to from 2am. And in Week 3 that season, the cameras were in Tampa for the return match with the Lions, the Bucs having won the season opener in Detroit by a 38-21 scoreline. The game situation The Bucs had 2nd and 10 from the Lion 11-yard line trailing 13-9.
