| Opening RJS in style Raymond James Stadium 20 September 1998 The background The first game in the new stadium and the Bucs UK were there in the front rows at the 50-yard line to really enjoy the atmosphere of the historic occasion. But the Bucs had found it all too much in the first half and trailing at the break was not part of the script. Then came two plays that turned the game, the first of which appears here in our countdown and features the excellent Warrick Dunn. And it was 17 points for my fantasy team. The game situation Having been 15-0 down at half-time, the Bucs had fought back to 15-13 and the tide was turning in their favour. Just into the fourth quarter, Warrick Dunn took a handoff, broke a tackle at the line, and then won a footrace to the left corner of the endzone to put the Bucs ahead for good in the first game played at Raymond James Stadium. | The 100 Greatest Plays in Buccaneer history Welcome to the next and best countdown that we have ever run on BUCPOWER.COM. Featuring every one of the 32 years that the Bucs have played NFL football, we have clips of memorable touchdowns, bloopers, decisive moments and trick plays. From the ridiculous to the sublime, this is a countdown to bring back a lot of memories for Buccaneer fans of all ages around the world. Whereas the top 20-30 plays do stand out and are able to be ranked subjectively (and have been by some of the Tampa media), the early plays are generally spread out across the years and can only be placed approximately in terms of their importance. |
