The first Buccaneer TD
Memorial Stadium
3 October 1976

The background
The expansion Buccaneers were of course not very good as we all know. When you go 0-14, you tend to get that kind of reputation. But did you know it took them nearly four games to even score a touchdown?

Having been shutout in their first two games and then held to three fieldgoals by Buffalo, the Bucs went into Baltimore hoping this would be their day. The game quickly got out of control in terms of who would win, but John McKay's team still wanted the first official touchdown.

And after defensive back Danny Reece scored it, McKay ordered an onside kick and then got the first offensive touchdown shortly afterwards when Charlie Davis went over from the one.

The game situation
The Colts were leading 42-3 and were running out the clock with just under two minutes left in the game. RB Ron Lee fumbled and Danny Reece picked up the ball to score the historic first Tampa Bay Buccaneer touchdown.
