Spurlock returns to Tampa Bay
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have re-signed receiver Micheal Spurlock and released receiver Yamon Figurs.

Spurlock is known for becoming the first player in Bucs history to return a kickoff for a touchdown. He scored on a 90-yard kickoff return against Atlanta on December 16, 2007, breaking Tampa Bay's 32-year streak without scoring on a kickoff.

After returning to Tampa Bay in 2008, Spurlock lost his kickoff duties to former second round pick Dexter Jackson. After Jackson was eventually bench, Clifton Smith began returning kicks and punts for Tampa Bay and was named to last year's Pro Bowl.

Earlier this year, Spurlock appeared in four games with San Francisco before being released. He also played with the Florida Tuskers in the United Football League this year.

Spurlock will likely be asked to return kicks because Smith was recently placed on injured reserved after suffering a second concussion this season. He will likely share those duties with running back rookie running back Kareem Huggins.
