The No.2 shirt
Only seven players have ever worn this number for the Buccaneers, three of whom have been kickers. Although kicker might actually be a misnomer for Dave Warnke who is right up there in contention for worst such player in franchise history after his one-game debacle against the Lions in the 1983 season finale.

Obed Ariri took over the kicking job the following year and also the No.2 shirt. Steve Christie had a two-year stint in the role in 1990 and 1991 but was somehow allowed to bolt for Buffalo in a Plan B free agency move in March 1992. A long NFL career then followed.

Chris Simms became the first non-kicker to wear No.2 for the Bucs when he adopted his college number in the pro game. He of course took over the starting QB job in October 2005 when Brian Griese was injured and led the team to their first post-season appearance in three years but spent his final two seasons recovering from the terrible spleen injury he suffered against Carolina in 2006.

The three most recent players to have worn the number and none lasted very long, Sam Paulescu five games punting in 2009 and just four each for kickers Kyle Brindza and Nick Folk before being released.
