Claimed on waivers from Miami at mid-season and was a gameday inactive until the season finale against Atlanta when he stepped in during the second half on the offensive line. Was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the fourth round in 2008. He was inactive for all 16 games as a rookie and the first five games of Miami's 2009 campaign before being released. His relation to another professional athlete is one that always draws far more attention as he is the son of former Atlanta Braves star Dale Murphy.
