Claimed on waivers from Miami in the middle of the 2009 season and was a gameday inactive until the season finale against Atlanta when he stepped in during the second half on the offensive line. Was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the fourth round in 2008 and was inactive for all 21 games he was on the roster before being released. His relation to another professional athlete was one that always drew far more attention as he is the son of former Atlanta Braves star Dale Murphy.
