Jets rookie QB Sanchez will not start against Bucs
For the third consecutive week, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are preparing to face a backup quarterback.

New York Jets coach Rex Ryan said Wednesday that 26-year-old Kellen Clements will start Sunday's matchup at Raymond James Stadium instead of rookie Mark Sanchez, who is hobbled with a sprained right knee. Sanchez was hurt during a 19-13 triumph against Buffalo in Toronto Dec. 3.

Two weeks ago, the Bucs faced Chris Redman at the Georgia Dome after Matt Ryan was injured during the opening series. Atlanta won 20-17 on a 5-yard touchdown pass by Redman with 23 seconds left. Carolina's Matt Moore started for injured Jake Delhomme last week and guided the Panthers to a 16-6 victory.

The Jets (6-6) have won two games in a row after a span of six losses in seven games and they boast the NFL's No. 1 ground attack, led by former Buccaneer Thomas Jones. Clemens will be making his ninth NFL start under center and his first since 2007. He has completed 1-of-3 pass attempts this season for 14 yards and has already been sacked three times.
