Started every game at cornerback opposite Ronde Barber and had a solid if unspectacular season, only being undone at year end when the lack of a pass-rush put undue pressure on the secondary. Was allowed to explore free agency after the 2008 season and signed with the Detroit Lions. Had become a regular starting corner in 2007 when Brian Kelly was injured and kept the role even when he returned. A former Raider 1st round pick who was with the Houston Texans early in 2006 before being released and signed by the Bucs in mid-season. Worked his way into the defensive rotation first as the nickel back and then started the final four games of the year at left cornerback. Also saw some time returing punts but without much success.
