Wilfork, Marshall as Buccaneers?
This is the time of year when free agents and disgruntled players profess their love for other NFL teams. It has begun with Patriots defensive tackle Vince Wilfork, who has expressed an interest in playing for Miami or Tampa Bay.

Wilfork played at the University of Miami, so returning to Florida would be 'a dream come true,' according to a story in the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. Of course, the Patriots are expected to place the franchise tag on Wilfork, so all the bouquets are meaningless.

Something called the Mile High Report speculates that WR Brandon Marshall would also welcome a return to the sunshine state. He starred at the University of Central Florida. Only problem is, the Bucs own 10 draft picks, including two in the second reound, and they don't plan on dealing them for Marshall.

So just who are the offensive free agents?
It does make me laugh when I read message board muppets making comments along the lines of "sign a couple of top free agents and the Bucs will win". OK name them then. Just to show how little "talent" is out there in free agency, these are the only offensive free agents on the market if there is no CBA deal reached at the end of March. Would you honestly think any of these players can turn round a franchise?

RB Willie Parker, Steelers (U) Ideally, a speed complement to a power back
RB Chester Taylor, Vikings (U) Vet’s value primary on third downs, relief duty
WR Antonio Bryant, Buccaneers (U) Is gifted but an underachiever
WR Chris Chambers, Chiefs (U) Still has good hands, leaping ability
WR Derrick Mason, Ravens (U) Keeps defying age (36) with tough catches
WR Terrell Owens, Bills (U) A good pickup for aggressive contender
WR Kevin Walter, Texans (U) Good value as potential No. 2 receiver
TE Benjamin Watson, Patriots (U) Nothing spectacular but solid all-around
T Chad Clifton, Packers (U) Has been solid but has a lot of mileage at 33
G Stephen Neal, Patriots (U) At 33, is considering retirement
C Kevin Mawae, Titans (U) Still effective, but age (39) is a drawback
