Profile
Moved into the starting line-up in the second half of the season when Jermaine Phillips was hurt but did nothing to indicate he deserved the role on a full-time basis. Played in eight games during 2003 primarily on special teams but with some action in the secondary before being placed on IR during November. Spent a second year backing up John Lynch at strong safety in 2002 and made one start against Atlanta when the Bucs' perennial Pro Bowler was injured. Originally a 4th round pick in 2001 who had played the same strong safety position in college with the same Cover-2 defense as the Bucs had used. Not blessed with great speed but knew the system well enough to play extensively in his rookie season and made one start.
