Anderson was on the downside of his career after three years in the USFL and three in San Diego at that point, but showed bursts of his talent during his first two seasons in Tampa. By 1993 however, he was nothing more than a seriously-overpaid kick returner who couldn't even fulfill that role any longer and was released in Week 12. Back in 1983, Anderson was the focus of a court case between the NFL and USFL as he had signed contracts with both the Chargers and the Houston Gamblers. The highlight of the trial was when it was revealed that Anderson, despite having 40% of the credits towards his degree from Arkansas, couldn't even read or write.
