Led the Bucs in most punting categories until Mark Royals passed them during the 2001 season, having played five seasons for the team from 1983 to 1987. Won the job in training camp in 1983 having previously been waived by five different NFL teams and one in the USFL. Led the NFC in gross punting that season and had four more consistent years from then on. Was released at the end of the 1987 season. Had been cut by five different NFL teams including the Bucs and one USFL team before he finally made it into the pros in 1983 under John McKay.
