Profile
Lee Roy's elder brother and a team-mate for the first five seasons in franchise history. Moved from the defensive line to linebacker and started there during the 1979 NFC Championship Game against the Rams. Was named by the team's MVP in 1978, his first at the linebacker position. Also called the defensive signals for three seasons for the Bucs. Famously once described by coach Tom Bass as not being quite as nice as his brother - "If Lee Roy tackled you, he'd help you up. Dewey would probably have trodden on you instead". Never played in the NFL again after leaving Tampa Bay. Originally wore the 61 shirt as a rookie and through his first three seasons and then switched to 58 in 1979.
