Suffered an achilles tendon injury during the 2012 off-season and was hence placed on the PUP list for the first six games of the season. Was used sparingly during his 10 games on his return but showed enough flashes of the form he displayed in college that him projected as the first overall pick before knee problems caused him to drop to the 2nd round and the Bucs' selection at No.51.
