Played the first five seasons in franchise history and started for two of them at a variety of positions in the secondary. Always a strong special teams player, he went on to a win a SuperBowl ring with the Redskins in 1982. Played every game in 1980 at left cornerback having been the regular nickel back during the championship game season of 1979. Was released by the Bucs in camp in 1981 and was signed by Washington late that year playing two games. Only then missed one game in the next five seasons in DC recording 11 more interceptions and two touchdowns, one on a fumble return.
