Profile
Lost his starting tailback job to LeGarrette Blount at mid-season but continued to play in passing downs and showed an amazing ability to pass protect against the blitz. Became a far better receiver out of the backfield in 2010 than he had ever been before. Has now twice fought his way back from potentially career-ending knee injuries. Had been named the NFL's Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2005 and posted a 1,000-yard season in spite of missing two games through injury. Was twice named Offensive Rookie of the Month and had six 100-yard games. Was the fifth overall selection in the draft and the third running back selected. His nickname came from a sports director for an ABC affiliate in Birmingham, Ala. during a Friday night football game in 1998 saying he "ran as smooth as a Cadillac". Moved on to the St.Louis Rams in August 2011 in a free agent move.
Selected as the 32nd best player in franchise history in a 2011 countdown on BUCPOWER.COM.
