Carolina Panthers
All-time record: 6-9
The Bucs and Panthers will now meet twice a season as they become division rivals in the new NFC South from 2002 onwards. But they met fairly regularly since Carolina joined the NFL in 1995 with a pair of victories for the Bucs including their come-from-behind win in the 1998 meeting at Raymond James Stadium. The two games in the 2002 season were both Buccaneer victories on their way to the NFC South title, the road win coming behind Rob Johnson in place of the injured Brad Johnson. The home opener of the 2003 season saw the Bucs manage to have two fieldgoals and the winning extra point blocked before losing in overtime.
