Profile
Returned to the Bucs in a trade with Chicago in March 2008 having originally moved to the Bears as a free agent after the 2005 season. Started four games early in the season after Jeff Garcia was hurt but then was injured himself and only returned to the No.2 spot and a start in Atlanta in December. Had started the first six games of 2005 before suffering a season-ending knee injury against the Dolphins (the Bucs were 5-1 with him as the starter). Had became the Bucs' starting QB six games into 2004 following an injury to Chris Simms during the Saints' game. Wound up setting franchise records for completion percentage and passer rating. Joined the Bucs as a free agent in April 2004 having previously been with Miami and Denver. Was originally a 3rd round pick of the Broncos in 1998 and eventually replaced the legendary John Elway in Denver. Led the NFL in passer rating in 2000 in the Mile High City and was selected to the Pro Bowl.
