Kicked off for one game (against Detroit) during 1982 but attempted no extra points or fieldgoals. Had been a highly-successful kicker for the Florida Gators playing alongside the likes of Scot Brantley in the process. Had been signed as Bill Capece had picked up an injury the previous week whilst making a touchdown-saving tackle v Buffalo. Was released the following week when Capece proved totally fit to play. Had originally been a 10th round pick of the Patriots in 1982 but could not beat out Englishman John Smith for the kicking job in New England.
