Spent the entire 1985 season as the back-up QB to first Steve DeBerg, and then Steve Young, whilst also holding for all kicks. Ran once for 10 yards on a fake fieldgoal attempt to set up a touchdown against the Rams. Came to the Bucs when the USFL folded but ultimately lost his chance to play due to the USFL dispersion draft that brought Steve Young later that season. Played two seasons in the USFL with the Arizona Wrangers and then part of the 1987 season with the Green Bay Packers.
