The Bucs picked alternately 20th and 19th through the draft. They traded a 2012 4th round pick to Philadelphia to swop picks in the 4th round. They traded a 6th round pick to Philadelphia in 2010 for WR Reggie Brown. They traded a 5th round pick in 2010 to Kansas City for DE Alex Magee and gained an additional 6th round pick in return. The second 7th round pick was a compensatory selection.

1 - DE - Adrian Clayborn - Iowa
High-motored defensive end who started all 16 games at right defensive end and ranked second on the team in sacks with six. Had only played three games in 2012 before sustaining a season-ending knee injury in the game against Dallas and was lost for the rest of the season. In 2011, had started every game at right defensive end as a rookie and led the team in sacks with 7.5 including a stretch of five consecutive games where he recorded at least half a takedown.

2 - DE - Da'Quan Bowers - Clemson
Had a very disappointing third season and is quickly approaching the bust label having been so highly regarded coming out of college. Was relegated to situational pass-rushing roles in the second half of the season and wound up on IR for the final week. Had suffered an achilles tendon injury during the 2012 off-season and was hence placed on the PUP list for the first six games of the season. Was used sparingly during his 10 games on his return but showed enough flashes of the form he displayed in college that him projected as the first overall pick before knee problems caused him to drop to the 2nd round and the Bucs' selection at No.51.

3 - LB - Mason Foster - Washington
Remains the starting middle linebacker although he missed two starts early in the 2013 season when the defense opened in alternative alignments. Also missed the Detroit road win through injury. Ranked second on the team in tackles and had a pair of sacks in the season opener in New York. Had two interception return touchdowns in 2013, one off Drew Brees and the other off Matt Ryan. Had an excellent rookie campaign in 2011 when he called all the defensive signals. Was a tackling machine at the University of Washington, racking up an incredible 378 stops over four seasons and 50 games.

4 - TE - Luke Stocker - Tennessee
Started the first two games of the 2013 season having won the starting tight end job in pre-season but was then placed on IR and lost for the remainder of the year. Had spent the previous two seasons as the Bucs' No.2 tight end and primary blocker in that role making 20 starts in the process. Scored his first NFL touchdown in the Week 3 loss to Dallas. In four seasons at Tennessee, he caught 85 passes for 956 yards and eight touchdowns.

5 - S - Ahmad Black - Florida
Played in the first four games with two starts as an extra defensive back and was then released. Was not signed by any other NFL team during 2013. In his second season, played in every game and started the season opener when the Bucs went to a nickel formation with three safeties. Saw extensive playing time in the secondary and was also a key member of the kick coverage units.

6 - RB - Allen Bradford - USC
Played in just one game in the 2011 season before being released. Had been inactive for the first four games having shown only limited potential during the pre-season. Had a stellar career with the Trojans as a big-play back and touchdown scorer. His only Buccaneer playing time came in the loss to the 49ers when the game was out of reach in the second half.

7 - DB - Anthony Gaitor - Florida International
Missed the entire 2013 season through injury having only seen action in four games in 2012 having also been on the sideline for months. Remains an over-achiever who made the 2011 roster out of training camp with some stellar play during the pre-season but only saw action in eight games as a rookie, primarily on special teams' coverage but then as an extra defensive back during the final month of the season.

7 - TE - Daniel Hardy - Idaho
Did not make the team out of training camp.

Summing up 2011
Way too early to pass judgement on this draft class so far but Bowers has looked anything like the steal he was supposed to be. Clayborn and Foster have been starters since their first game and both Black and Gaitor had their moments in the secondary.
