The 2011 Buccaneer draft review
Summing up 2011
Four years on and this draft looks like another bad one as all three top picks look to be moving on to pastures anew. Adrian Clayborn looked good in the two seasons where he wasn't injured but Da'Quan Bowers never panned out and Mason Foster was nothing special in the middle. All bar Daniel Hardy made the roster but without any of the lower picks truly impressing.

The Bucs picked alternately 20th and 19th through the draft. They traded a 2012 4th round pick to Philadelphia to swop picks in the 4th round. They traded a 6th round pick to Philadelphia in 2010 for WR Reggie Brown. They traded a 5th round pick in 2010 to Kansas City for DE Alex Magee and gained an additional 6th round pick in return. The second 7th round pick was a compensatory selection.

1 - DE - Adrian Clayborn - Iowa - OK pick
Had the second injury-curtailed season in his four-year NFL career in 2014 when he was lost during the first game of the season having made but one tackle. His two full seasons have been successful ones with a bunch of sacks and high-motored play. Was the Bucs' first pick in the 2011 draft and the 20th overall selection out of Iowa who now needs another successful season to maintain his position in the league.

2 - DE - Da'Quan Bowers - Clemson - poor pick
Played in 11 games with two early season starts in 2014 but was primarily a back-up along all four line positions. Also served a two-game suspension for PEDs at mid-season. Was highly-regarded coming out of college albeit plagued by injury concerns but has not lived up to his collegiate billing at all during his time in the NFL. As a free agent, his time in Tampa could well be at an end.

3 - LB - Mason Foster - Washington - OK pick
Has been the Bucs' starting linebacker for the past four seasons missing games only through injury but doubt remains as to his long-term future in Tampa as he will be a free agent in March 2015 Had two interception return touchdowns in 2013, one off Drew Brees and the other off Matt Ryan. Had an excellent rookie campaign in 2011 when he called all the defensive signals. Was the Bucs' 3rd round selection having been a tackling machine at the University of Washington, racking up an incredible 378 stops over four seasons and 50 games.

4 - TE - Luke Stocker - Tennessee - OK pick
Has become the Bucs' primary blocking tight end and fulfilled that role through 2014 also seeing time in the backfield as a lead blocker. Now rarely seen as a receiving threat. Scored his only NFL touchdown in the Week 3 2012 loss to Dallas. Was the first offensive player chosen by the Buccaneers in 2011 after three rounds ruled by front-seven defensive acquisitions. In four seasons at Tennessee, he caught 85 passes for 956 yards and eight touchdowns.

5 - S - Ahmad Black - Florida - poor pick
Played in the first four games with two starts as an extra defensive back and was then released and was not signed by any other NFL team afterwards. Grew up in nearby Lakeland as a fan of the team, his aunt even having once been a Buccaneers Cheerleader.

6 - RB - Allen Bradford - USC - poor pick
layed in just one game in the 2011 season before being released. Had been inactive for the first four games having shown only limited potential during the pre-season. Had a stellar career with the Trojans as a big-play back and touchdown scorer. His only Buccaneer playing time came in the loss to the 49ers when the game was out of reach in the second half.

7 - DB - Anthony Gaitor - Florida International - OK pick
Missed the entire 2013 season through injury having only seen action in four games in 2012 having also been on the sideline for months. Did not make it through the final roster cuts in 2014. Remained an over-achiever who made the 2011 roster out of training camp with some stellar play during the pre-season but only saw action in eight games as a rookie, primarily on special teams' coverage but then as an extra defensive back during the final month of the season.

7 - TE - Daniel Hardy - Idaho - wasted pick
Did not make the team out of training camp.
