The Bucs traded 2nd (42 overall) and 5th round (153 overall) picks to the Oakland Raiders for a 2nd round pick (39 overall). They traded two 7th round picks (225 and 232 overall) to the Denver Broncos for a 2011 5th round pick. The additional 2nd round pick came from Chicago in the Gaines Adams' trade. The Bucs' original 5th round pick went to Cleveland to complete the Kellen Winslow trade. The additional 5th round pick came from New England for TE Alex Smith. The additional 7th round pick came from Jacksonville for QB Luke McCown. The Bucs also had one compensatory 7th round pick for losing free agents.

1 - DT - Gerald McCoy - Oklahoma - Great pick
Continued his ascendancy into the NFL elite with a second straight Pro Bowl season and was also named first-team All-Pro. Led the Buccaneers in sacks with nine and had three of them in a single game against Atlanta. Saw almost constant double-teaming by the end of the season. Had finally made it through an entire NFL season in 2012 without tearing a bicep and was rewarded with a trip to the Pro Bowl. Had a pair of two-sack games in spite of seeing constant double teams with injuries affecting the players around him.

2 - DT - Brian Price - UCLA - Bad pick
Was traded to the Bears before the start of training camp 2012 after concerns over injury and mental state following a tough off-season. Had made an amazing comeback from a serious pelvic injury and started all bar two games at defensive tackle in 2011. Had to have potentially career-ending surgery after his rookie season and his recovery astounded players and medical staff alike.

2 - WR - Arrelious Benn - Illinois - Bad pick
Had another injury-plagued season in 2012 and once again finished a year on injured reserve like his two previous campaigns. Had already been relegated to kick return and 4th receiver duties when he was ruled out for the year. Has shown touches of real speed and receiving talent during his time in Tampa but at present looks like a bust from his 2nd round selection in 2010.

3 - CB - Myron Lewis - Vanderbilt - Bad pick
Spent 2012 as the final active member of the secondary and only saw limited defensive action and time on special teams. Has done nothing to impress during his three years in Tampa and must surely be on his way out of the Bucs' plans at the end of this season.

4 - WR - Mike Williams - Syracuse - Excellent pick
Finished agonisingly close to his first 1,000-yard NFL receiving season but was still outstanding again throughout the year. Now playing the No.2 role with the arrival of Vincent Jackson, he led the team in touchdowns and had three 100-yard games. Has caught a pass in 47 of his 48 career games.

6 - P - Brent Bowden - Virginia Tech - Wasted pick
Did not make the full roster out of training camp after a disappointing pre-season and after one week on the practice squad, was released.

7 - S- Cody Grimm - Virginia Tech - Good pick
Lost his starting free safety spot in training camp to Ronde Barber and was relegated to nothing more than special teams' coverage action before being placed on IR for the third straight season. Had twice replaced Tanard Jackson during his first two years as a starter in the defensive backfield.

7 - LB - Dekoda Watson - Florida State - Good pick
Had his third straight season as a special teams' leader and back-up on the defense at both outside linebacker positions and made two starts there during 2011. Recorded his first NFL sack in the Week 3 win over the Falcons. Had originally made the 2010 team for his special teams abilities but saw increasing playing time on defense by the end of the season and started the home game against the Carolina Panthers.

7 - FB/DE - Erik Lorig - Stanford - Good pick
Spent his second season as the Bucs' regular fullback and caught his first NFL touchdown pass in the nationally-televised road victory against Minnesota. Went into his rookie training camp as a defensive end and was a gameday inactive in the season opener at that position. Switched to full back and after two weeks on the practice squad, came back up to the full roster as a member of the offense.

Summing up 2010
A real boom or bust draft right now with McCoy looking like one of the best picks in franchise history and the selections of Mike Williams and Erik Lorig being excellent together with the depth provided by Watson and Grimm. Lewis was a bust and both 2nd round picks had terrible injury problems with ruined their chances of success with the Buccaneers. There really were no in-betweens with this draft.
