Steve DeBerg brought the Bucs back with the longest pass play of the season to Phil Freeman, and then had Tampa inside Viking territory in a bid for the winning TD but was picked off by Wymon Henderson at the Minnesota 25-yard line.

James Wilder did not have a rushing attempt for the only time in his Buc career. Ray Isom started his first game for the Bucs and came up with an interception of Tommy Kramer.
