John McKay's final season in Tampa was an eventual one with controversy following the Bucs' only head coach to the final minute of his career. 1984 was James Wilder's year though and he deservedly became the first Buc back to go to the Pro Bowl. The offense ranked 10th in the league admittedly playing catch-up a little too often but DeBerg, House, Carter and Wilder were the best offensive weapons Tampa had ever had.
