The Bucs' venture into the 1981 post-season was a short-one as four sacks, four interceptions and two intentional grounding penalties meant it was a long and fruitless day for Doug Williams. The Cowboys rushed for over 200 yards led by Tony Dorsett and future Buc Ron Springs and the result was never seriously in doubt. The Bucs did threaten to score late in the game following a 75-yard pass play from Williams to Jimmie Giles, but Dallas held on downs to preserve the shutout.
