The Vikings had won six straight NFC Central Division titles but this win in Minnesota put the Bucs at 7-2 and on course to their own first such title.
Ricky Bell's 2-yard run 47 seconds into the final quarter was the game-winner, following a pair of long passes from Doug Williams to Isaac Hagins to set up the score.
Richard Wood had 14 tackles and Wally Chambers two sacks, as the Buc defense kept the Vikings at bay for the rest of the fourth quarter.
