The Bucs made it four wins in a row to start the 1979 defense by shutting down the Ram offense. Not once in the second half could they cross midfield, and they only scored on Jim Youngblood's interception return early in the game.

Doug Williams only completed five passes but two of them were for TDs in the second quarter, the first being set up by Bill Kollar's fumble recovery.
