Howard, Jackson, Sweezy in boots as 10 Bucs take injuries

Monday's 24-21 loss to the Falcons was a testament to the Bucs' resilience, with 10 Tampa Bay players announced with injuries over the course of the game.

Three players — TE O.J. Howard, WR DeSean Jackson and G J.R. Sweezy — had boots on their injured ankles after the game and were walking with crutches in the locker room. A fourth player, LB Adarius Glanton, suffered what looked to be a broken lower left leg in a collision with Robert Ayers and had to be carted off the field with his leg in an air cast.

S Justin Evans also left the game with an ankle injury and did not return. Five other players left the game with injuries and later returned — CB Ryan Smith (leg/concussion check), TE Cam Brate (knee), S T.J. Ward (concussion check), DE Robert Ayers (stinger) and LB Devante Bond (stinger).

Add those to the three Bucs who were already inactive with injuries — DT Gerald McCoy (biceps), LB Lavonte David (hamstring) and CB Vernon Hargreaves (hamstring) — and Tampa Bay has a rough turnaround with a short week before a road game at Carolina on Christmas Eve.
