Switching up the secondary

The Bucs’ search for a suitable combination in the secondary continued when they regularly rotated cornerbacks Johnthan Banks and Keith Tandy into the lineup at outside and slot corner, respectively.

The regular use of Banks and Tandy, both of whom had been relegated almost exclusively to special-teams duty in recent weeks, came after a week in which the Bucs altered their secondary in practice.

“We’re just trying to see what group works best together even at this point in the year against a team we need to be able to defend the pass against,” Bucs defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier said.

The changes didn’t do much for an ailing defensive backfield. The Rams, who had thrown for 200 yards or more only three times this year, threw for 175 in the first half.
