Here's a `Scoop': A Bucs fan from England

At least one Bucs fan at Tampa Stadium was thrilled with Sunday's game. Paul "Scoop" Stewart, president of the Bucs Fan Club of London (membership 22), traveled across the Atlantic to watch his favorite American football team.

“It would've been nice if we had won, but it was a dream come true, anyway,” said Stewart, who spent much of the game on the Bucs' sideline decked out in a personalized team jersey.

Stewart, a sports reporter for a small British tabloid, said he has been a Bucs fan since 1982. “The very first American football game I watched was a Monday night game in 1982, when the Bucs beat Miami (23-17),” Stewart said. “I didn't know any better, and I thought the Bucs must be a pretty good team, so I started rooting for them. Six of us got together and started the club.”

He said it's hard to keep up with Tampa Bay in England because the British media focuses only on “the big teams like the Bears and Giants.” “I'm going to stick with the Bucs,” Stewart said after the game. “I'm not going to give up. I'll follow them forever. I may be back when we get to the Super Bowl next year.”
