After throwing four interceptions against Carolina, Bucs rookie quarterback Jameis Winston has not been intercepted in his past two games. He hit on 21 of 29 throws for 297 yards and two touchdowns, posting a 128.1 passer rating despite losing wide receivers Vincent Jackson and Louis Murphy to injuries during the game.

“Winston’s going to be all right,’’ said Redskins safety Dashon Goldson, who played the previous two seasons with the Bucs. “He can throw the ball and he surprised me a little bit with his feet today. He definitely has a strong arm and he’s getting some good chemistry with Mike Evans. Tell all those Bucs fans in Tampa that I’m sorry about today — and tell them to hang in there.’’

Winston completed five throws of at least 20 yards while impressing Redskins coach Jay Gruden. “He’s a big kid who can see the field,’’ Gruden said.

“People don’t understand how hard it is as a rookie quarterback to play at the level people expect. I went through it with Andy Dalton in Cincinnati. I think (offensive coordinator) Dirk Koetter is doing an excellent job with Jameis and I’d be excited if I was a Buccaneer fan right now.’’
